The Pot Maker of Chandelao, Rajasthan
January 2, 2014 - Cities, Towns & Villages, Men
The lighting in the morning was perfect for the shot. The sun was rising and lending a soft light into this somewhat dark room – enough to light up the potter and his beautiful work behind him. The room was extremely tidy for a workshop and the finished pots meticulously arranged, each made so beautifully. This was photographed about a 45 minutes drive away from the town of Chandelao. It’s not even a village but a few houses out in the desert where this potter and his family lived. Chandelao is a village 90 minutes east of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.
