Kolkata, India’s enigmatic city

January 12, 2013  -  Cities, Towns & Villages

Rich in history with a colorful and vibrant present Kolkata conjures up more mixed feelings than a 7-year relationship gone bad. And you’ve never truly been to an Indian city unless you’ve trudged your way through this enigmatic city.

It’s a kaleidoscope of mixed emotions, stirring every sense in every way, from its dazzling array of sumptuous street food to formula one drivers racing through the streets in diesel belching buses to an out of this world flower market and historic monuments. It is also the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel prize winner, and home to over 15 million colorful souls making it India’s second largest city that appears to be busting at its seams.
